Servicing Garage Doors In The Twin CitiesGarage doors need regular maintenance. Like any other door, lubrication and spring tension adjustment are essential routine procedures. It’s better to do something about it now than wait until your door displays symptoms that need an extensive garage door service repair. If you have adequate experience with garage maintenance, you may do a routine checkup every month just to make sure your overhead door does not act out.

Unusual noises From Garage Door

Overhead doors will make annoying sounds over time, and it’s crucial for you to identify new ones that might indicate that something is wrong. Also, be wary of the smallest snaps and screeches since these typically mean the opener chain may be loose. Unusual sounds from your garage door can be the result of several different issues, so be sure to call a professional right away. If you find the cause of the noise sooner than later, your repair could be less extensive.

Gaps In The Garage door’s seal

A properly sealed garage door is essential for protecting the contents of your garage and the security of your home’s interior. Gaps below your garage door and between panels allow the weather from outside to come in, putting your possessions at risk. It could also cause the climate-controlled air of your home to escape, raising your energy costs. Keeping a tight seal is especially important for Lansing, Michigan, garage doors when the weather gets colder.

Remote Control Garage Door Issues

A good number of garage door malfunctions stem from remote control issues. You rely on your remote control every day, so it experiences plenty of wear and tear. It’s normal for garage door buttons to wear out, making them unusable. It could be time for a new battery, or a replacement remote. Call the remote’s manufacturer for more information on how to check your garage door remote for malfunctions.

Automatic Garage Door Reverse Feature

Most garage doors have an auto-reverse feature for safety purposes. Check this feature every month to see if this is working to prevent accidents, especially for small kids and pets.

Stuck Garage Door

Your garage door could be stuck in the open or closed position for several reasons. There could be an issue with the photo-eye sensors (misaligned or dirty), the door may have shifted out of alignment, stopping it from closing, or there could be an issue with the door opener.

Navigating COVID-19

We are still open as an essential business

To our valued customers,

Recent news about COVID-19 is unfortunate for many of our customers and our local businesses. As we continue to learn more about COVID-19 and as other businesses start the Pause phase of the recent Executive Order, our team at Rise & Shine Garage Doors would like to express our concern for all those who have been affected. Our employees and our customers are our top priority , and we are doing everything we can to ensure the health and safety of each.

We have been closely monitoring the situation since it began and fully support all precautions being taken to prevent any further spread of the virus. Rise & Shine Garage Doors has remained open and in full operation as we understand how important it may be to your daily lives to have a fully functional Garage Door. We continue to follow the plan we set in place in March when this pandemic began and will continue to do so. These are the changes we have made to our policies to help prevent the spread:

  • Our technicians will practice social distancing rather than shaking hands at the door.
  • Estimates and repair recommendations will be done remotely or over the phone while our customers stay inside or quarantined.
  • Preferably all payments will be made by credit card rather than by check.
  • We will continue to clean up after ourselves, wash our hands, and use hand sanitizer often.

The nature of our industry allows us a lot of flexibility in these times as most of our technicians are working in one to two man crews which is well under the guidelines that have been laid out before us. We even have the ability to complete all work without any face to face interactions and take payments over the phone.

We thank you for working with us as we navigate this situation.

With kind regards,

Josh Dutcher and Alex Johantgen
