Dented Garage Door PanelWe all know that accidents can happen at any time, it happens quite often in the Garage Door Repair field. One of our most recent customers had someone run into their garage door. This caused the bottom section to bow as well as left a dent on the front of the door. The homeowner didn’t want to have to replace the entire garage door so we were able to track down the exact section needed for replacement. We were also able to take care of a few minor issues with the garage door to ensure smooth operation for years to come.

Is it cheaper to replace a panel vs replacing the entire door?

In most cases panel replacement will be the cheaper option, however if multiple panels have damage it may be worth the extra money to just replace it entirely. Also one other thing to consider is how old the door is. If your door is older the paint has likely faded, when the new section is installed it will likely not patch since the paint finish will be new. This can however be fixed by re-painting the entire garage door. Every scenario is different which is why we always offer all of our customers free estimates. This allows us to give you options on repair and replacement so you can make the best choice for your home.

How do I know what type of panel I need?

There are many different types and models of garage doors. The easiest way to determine what kind of door you have is by looking on the side of the garage door. There is typically a sticker with manufacturers information on exact make, model, and size. This can be very helpful if your trying to track down a part or panel. Here is a list of the most common types of garage doors:

  • North Central
  • Haas
  • Clopay
  • Wayne Dalton
  • Amarr
  • Door Link
  • CHI
  • Hormann

There are many more brands of garage doors but these are the most common that you will find in the Twin Cities Metro. If you are unable to locate a tag or sticker to determine your door, feel free to schedule one of our free estimates. We will come to your home figure out exactly what type of door you have and find the part you need. To schedule an appointment simply call 612-886-9606!

Navigating COVID-19

We are still open as an essential business

To our valued customers,

As we continue to learn more about COVID-19 and as other businesses start to re-open, our team at Garage Door Repair Company would like to express our concern for all those who have been affected. Our employees and our customers are our top priority , and we are doing everything we can to ensure the health and safety of each.

We have been closely monitoring the situation since it began and fully support all precautions being taken to prevent any further spread of the virus. Garage Door Repair Company has remained open and in full operation as we understand how important it may be to your daily lives to have a fully functional Garage Door. However, in response to this public health emergency, we’ve implemented a few changes to our policies to help prevent the spread:

  • Our technicians will practice social distancing rather than shaking hands at the door.
  • Estimates and repair recommendations can be done remotely or over the phone while our customers stay inside or quarantined.
  • Preferably all payments will be made by credit card rather than by check.
  • We will continue to clean up after ourselves, wash our hands, and use hand sanitizer often.

The nature of our industry allows us a lot of flexibility in these times as most of our technicians are working in one to two man crews which is well under the guidelines that have been laid out before us. We even have the ability to complete all work without any face to face interactions and take payments over the phone.

We thank you for working with us as we navigate this situation.
