New Garage Door Replacement in Crystal, MN

new-doorAt Garage Door Repair Company we often talk about having your Garage Door and Garage Door Opener inspected to perform any preventative maintenance so that you can avoid any headaches in the future. Sometimes we find that it has gotten to the point where you may just want to replace the entire Garage Door. This was the case for one of our customers in Crystal, MN; they had moved in to their home within the last year but had inherited a cheap sub-par Garage Door. Initially the door worked fine for them but over time it started to jam when closing and even the panels began to crack. We explained to the customer that we could repair the door to the point of getting it functional again but there was nothing we could do about the cracks that were forming on the panels and it would only get worse. They opted to have the door replaced completely and now have peace of mind that they have a quality Garage Door for years to come.

Broken Cable in Bloomington, MN

blog pic 1The Garage Door is often times considered a luxury of life that not many of us are really thinking about, of course, until the Garage Door breaks down. There are many different problems that can occur with the Garage Door but one of the more difficult repairs is when a broken cable happens to your Garage Door. This often times will happen when the door is opening or closing and because of the weight of the door being supported by the Torsion Springs the door will end up going crooked and jamming completely. In Bloomington, MN we were out servicing a customer for some new bottom seal and new precision bearing rollers but while we were inspecting the entire Garage Door we found that their cable was down to only a few steel threads and was about to snap at any moment. We were able to replace their cables before they broke which can cause even more damage and costs.

Garage Door Weather Seal Installation Minnesota

FB_IMG_1463499272933Living in the Minnesota homeowners know the importance of energy efficiency. Many customers however are unaware of the amount of heat loss their home may have from the garage. The number one cause of this is either having worn out weather seals or not having any at all. By not having the proper seal you are allowing cold air flow directly into your home via the garage door. We have run into countless homes where they are heating the garage but don’t have any form of weather seal to stop air flow. This is very counterproductive and takes a huge hit on your wallet. At Garage Door Repair Company, we carry all the weather seal you need to keep out the elements and lower your heat bill.

Navigating COVID-19

We are still open as an essential business

To our valued customers,

Recent news about COVID-19 is unfortunate for many of our customers and our local businesses. As we continue to learn more about COVID-19 and as other businesses start the Pause phase of the recent Executive Order, our team at Garage Door Repair Company would like to express our concern for all those who have been affected. Our employees and our customers are our top priority , and we are doing everything we can to ensure the health and safety of each.

We have been closely monitoring the situation since it began and fully support all precautions being taken to prevent any further spread of the virus. Garage Door Repair Company has remained open and in full operation as we understand how important it may be to your daily lives to have a fully functional Garage Door. We continue to follow the plan we set in place in March when this pandemic began and will continue to do so. These are the changes we have made to our policies to help prevent the spread:

  • Our technicians will practice social distancing rather than shaking hands at the door.
  • Estimates and repair recommendations will be done remotely or over the phone while our customers stay inside or quarantined.
  • Preferably all payments will be made by credit card rather than by check.
  • We will continue to clean up after ourselves, wash our hands, and use hand sanitizer often.

The nature of our industry allows us a lot of flexibility in these times as most of our technicians are working in one to two man crews which is well under the guidelines that have been laid out before us. We even have the ability to complete all work without any face to face interactions and take payments over the phone.

We thank you for working with us as we navigate this situation.

With kind regards,

Josh Dutcher and Alex Johantgen
