Broken Cable in Bloomington, MN

blog pic 1The Garage Door is often times considered a luxury of life that not many of us are really thinking about, of course, until the Garage Door breaks down. There are many different problems that can occur with the Garage Door but one of the more difficult repairs is when a broken cable happens to your Garage Door. This often times will happen when the door is opening or closing and because of the weight of the door being supported by the Torsion Springs the door will end up going crooked and jamming completely. In Bloomington, MN we were out servicing a customer for some new bottom seal and new precision bearing rollers but while we were inspecting the entire Garage Door we found that their cable was down to only a few steel threads and was about to snap at any moment. We were able to replace their cables before they broke which can cause even more damage and costs.

Garage Door Weather Seal Installation Minnesota

FB_IMG_1463499272933Living in the Minnesota homeowners know the importance of energy efficiency. Many customers however are unaware of the amount of heat loss their home may have from the garage. The number one cause of this is either having worn out weather seals or not having any at all. By not having the proper seal you are allowing cold air flow directly into your home via the garage door. We have run into countless homes where they are heating the garage but don’t have any form of weather seal to stop air flow. This is very counterproductive and takes a huge hit on your wallet. At Rise & Shine Garage Doors, we carry all the weather seal you need to keep out the elements and lower your heat bill.

Bottom Seal Repair Eagan MN

New bottom seal EaganSometimes in life it’s the little things than can truly make a difference. The same can be said for Garage Doors. By overlooking the small issues, you can in turn create a much bigger problem. This was most recently the case for one of our Eagan customers. This particular customer had a severe rust problem on the edges of the door. This caused the cables to break, and the door went crooked. While inspecting the door it was apparent that the Garage Door Bottom Seal was worn out. It had completely ripped away from the edges of the garage door. Without having a proper barrier between the garage door and the floor, the door sat in the moisture build up in the garage causing rust. Rise & Shine Garage Doors was able to make all the repairs same day including the replacement of the bottom seal. We were able to do this by always carrying fully stocked service trucks
